A Moment of DELURK here,

One of the first records I ever owned, it came off the juke box in my parents
Bar & Restaurant in Springdale CT was

Pretty Little Angel Eyes,
by King Curtis, mean gritty sax solo

As a pre pre-teenager I heard Shelly Fabares crooning,

Johnny Angel
Johnny Angel
Jonny Annnngelll
You're an Angel to me

about 80 times a day on the AM radio, it was the first time I rememember
hearing a multitracked voice, it was very well done. The multi tracking that
is. Okay, so the lyrics, if you can call those lyrics are, shall we say not
well developed

Let's see as a teenager, Merilee Rush had a hit with

Angel of the morning

penned by the author of Wild Thing I believe whose name eludes me at the
moment [Alan sez: Chip Taylor wrote Wild Thing.]

and much later, Greg Allman.

I'm no Angel

That's my list of most memorable of the past, Jeff Healey's Angel Eyes is in
there too I guess but I just barely rememeber it. More recently the many times
mentioned Iris and Chuck, Infamous Angel and We are Each others Angels.

Anne.
