Joe Giacoio's talent has been discussed on this list quite eloquently by
fellow singer-songwriters such as Bill Parsons, who called "campy and
heartwrenching, twisted and breathtakingly sincere, quirky and classic . . .
a writer's writer." He also plays dazzling guitar in a two-handed technique
that songwriter Andrew McKnight jokes is illegal in some states.
Dan Pelletier shares Joe's love of wordplay -- the between-song
give-and-take between the two is priceless -- and he pounds out a soulful
sound that explores the challenge of being a parent, employee, artist and
housekeeper in the '90s. It's been noted -- presumably after a long night of
less-than angelic behavior -- that if Tom Lehrer, Shel Silverstein, Sting,
Joe Cocker and James Taylor all had a kid together, it would be Dan.

In addition, this house concert includes a special feature. In the
spirit of Folk Alliance, where talented performers play all night and
impromptu collaborations are frequent, we're are going to have a song
swap after the show. A number of professionals and semi-pros (and their
guitars) have already confirmed their attendance.
The rest of the night will include our standard house concert setup:
Suggested donation of $8 (for the artists), with light refreshments
provided. Participation in the post-show program costs only a touch of
humility and perhaps a degree of dignity.
