Hi Folks,

Pardon me if this has been brought up before, but does anyone know of a
national house concert directory either on line or analog? I think it would be
a great resource for performers and presenters alike...

I'm considering presenting a series starting this fall/late summer, and
we're both performers and presenters. I know there are at least three
house concert groups in the Seattle city limits (us being one of them)and
if someone has compiled this info already it would be so much better than
taking on a project of that magnitude...

Thanks,

Christopher Bingham

[ Rent-a-mod sez: I don't know of a dedicated, detailed national house concert
directory; it would be a constantly moving target (a/k/a headache!) due to venue
turnover. Even so, I was thinking about organizing one, but it seems better not
to create artificial distinctions between house concerts and other venues such
as coffeehouses. For most purposes they are more alike than different.

My goal at the moment, and I think Alan and the other folk net "cabal" agree
with me, is to rehabilitate the Folk Venue Database into a vital, flexible
resource where house concerts are (a) welcome and (b) searchable as such.

In the meantime, there *is* a list, which I know can't be complete, at this
URL:

You can also search Musi-Cal for house concerts (this URL is split):
