The Baltimore Songwriters Association is a nonprofit group for the
education and support of songwriting. We invite regional songwriters to
join us for our bi-monthly meetings, which are free and open to the
public. We meet the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at 7:30pm. We
gather at Funks Democratic Coffee Spot, which is located at 1818 Eastern
Avenue in Fells Point.
Songwriters of all levels and music genres are encouraged to join.
Our aim is to bring together area songwriters to present songs and
receive constructive criticism in a supportive atmosphere. Our aspiration
is to foster a musical community that is more cooperative than
competitive.
We have invited guest speakers and touring singer-songwriters to
visit. Weve presented special workshops with professional writers and
teachers. We also provide networking and mutual support for performing
singer-songwriters and address many of their common concerns. We promote
and stage concerts featuring Baltimore regional songwriters.
