Christine Lavin played in King of Prussia (PA) Sunday nite, and once
again she showed what goes into a performance. A concert isn't just a
collection of songs and a little (or no) patter. At its best, it's the
end product of a creative mind and energetic body. Christine's concert
was fresh, creative, innovative, emotionally satisfying, and, most of
all, fun. She brings fresh jokes to her banter (Bill and Monica), and
she entertains completely.
With portable vocal and guitar mic, she moved from the stage and walked
out into the audience. She noted birthdays, gave out a few party favors,
including a book she's been recommending and giving away at her shows,
and twirled her glow-in-the-dark batons. She exchaged routines with our
local baton corps, who opened the show. And she stayed for the many
autograph-seekers.
Christine Lavin has come to King of Prussia 10 of the past 14 summers,
and her shows are always different. I think that's what keeps the
audiences coming. That, plus her delightful sense of humor.
Thanks, Christine!
