[I am passing this on for Chris Bauman because he is such a famously shy
guy, and also because one of the SITR dates, Sunday April 26, is our next
Grassy Hill House Concert in Lyme CT! Email ghill@ifolk.org for more info
on that one, we'd love to have you. But catch this series anywhere you can,
it's a dream lineup for user-friendly acoustic music. TMN]

SONGWRITERS-IN-THE-ROUND SPRING '98

Thursday, April 16, 1998, marks the kick-off of the spring Songwriters-In-The-Round tour, nine nights over two weeks in some of the northeast US's friendlier folk venues.

The tour was set up by (and big thanks is given to!) folk_music@nysernet.org and www.folkmusic.org.

Based on the Internet Quartets tour done by f_m a few years back, these shows promise to be an exciting and different way to catch four great songwriters on one night, in venues ranging from large hall to intimate house concert.

This year's line-up is: Christian Bauman (PA), Rachel Bissex (VT), Gregg Cagno (NJ), and Linda Sharar (MA).

Gregg and Linda are longtime faves of f_m followers and festival-dogs, the original founders of Camp Hoboken. Rachel, with a new album just out, is a critic's darling of a songwriter, winning praise from such places as Dirty Linen and The Boston Globe. And Christian, also from Camp Hoboken, placed in this year's Top 5 New Folk Discoveries and Top 15 New Folk Albums on f_m's FolkVote97.

To see if the tour is coming to a room near you, use this Musi-Cal shortcut: http://ifolk.org/sitr

[Alan sez: This was to be Round 5 of the Internet Quartets tour that I wanted to set up for this spring. Logistical troubles (and the mammoth job of trying to set up and promote 66 concerts all by myself on a shoestring budget) finally did in that larger effort, but these folks were able to take wheel and salvage their portion of the tour. I'm very excited about all of these writers and hope that you guys will check out Musi-Cal for the dates and go and see them.]
